Yes. The free plan provides one genuine QES per month - the same qualified certificate and legally binding signature as paid plans. ZealiD is a Qualified Trust Service Provider on the EU Trusted List, and every signature issued meets Article 25(2) of the eIDAS Regulation regardless of plan.

Identity verification is completed once during registration via the ZealiD app - the process takes approximately 3 minutes using your passport or national identity document, with no video call required. Your verified identity is valid for 2 years. You do not need to re-verify each month or when changing plans.

Yes. You can change your plan at any time from your account settings under Plans & Billing. Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades take effect at the start of your next billing period - you keep your current plan until then. Annual plans are also available at a 20% discount compared to monthly billing.

No. Unused QES credits - whether from your monthly quota or additionally purchased credits - do not carry forward to the next billing period. Each new period starts with a fresh monthly quota. The same applies to annual plans: unused credits do not roll over to the next year.

You can purchase additional signature credits directly from your account under Plans & Billing without changing your subscription tier. Alternatively, you can upgrade to a higher plan at any time. Yes. ZealiD integrates with DocuSign, Adobe Acrobat Sign, and Foxit. ZealiD provides the qualified certificate and identity verification; your existing platform handles the document workflow. This means you can add QES capability to tools you already use without replacing them.

ZealiD QES is legally binding across all EU member states, Norway, and the United Kingdom under the eIDAS Regulation. ZealiD supports identity documents from more than 50 nationalities including countries outside the EU.

No. ZealiD's identity verification is fully remote and app-based - no hardware token, smart card, or scheduled video call is required. You verify once using your smartphone and a supported identity document. Once registered, you sign documents using Face ID or Touch ID.
