The differences

Where they really differ

Screening built in, or recorded from your own tool

Credas covers far more than identity: PEP and sanctions screening with ongoing monitoring, source of funds, business checks, and right to work and rent. It is strongest in UK property. Trust Circle checks identity with an ID document and a face check, and stops there. If you need screening, you run it in a tool built for it and note the result in the KYC questionnaire. What Trust Circle adds is the rest of the client file: shared documents and qualified signatures.

Charged per search, or verified once for two years

Credas charges per search or per completed check, depending on the plan. In Trust Circle, each client verifies once in the ZealiD app and stays verified for two years. The check is part of your plan, with no limit, and your client doesn't pay.

Ask Credas four questions

Credas prices are given on request, so ask for a quote on your own volume. Ask what one ID check costs, whether you pay when you send the invite or when the client completes it, how many users are included, and how long the contract runs.

Then put the answers next to the Trust Circle plan for your team, where ID checks are included. Keep screening in your total, since you would still need it.

Which one is right for you?

Choose Credas if:

  • You work in UK property, where Credas says it's part of 60% of housing transactions
  • You need PEP and sanctions screening with ongoing monitoring
  • You need source of funds checks through open banking
  • You also run right to work or right to rent checks
  • You need UK DIATF certification

Choose Trust Circle if:

  • You want prices you can see before you talk to sales
  • You want ID checks without a fee per check
  • You share documents with clients, not just check them
  • Your clients sign with a qualified signature
  • You have clients in the EU as well as the UK

Use both if: you're a UK property firm that needs screening and source of funds checks. Keep Credas for those, record the result in the KYC questionnaire, and use Trust Circle for client files and qualified signatures.

What Trust Circle doesn't do

Live sanctions and PEP screening, beneficial ownership checks and the risk decision stay with your firm.

It doesn't run right to work or right to rent checks.
